CNY Region History Day Contest

The Onondaga Historical Associations invites you to participate in the annual CNY Region History Day competition. National History Day hosts more than half a million students from around the world as they conduct research and interpret historical topics through the lens of an annual theme. Students in grades 6-12 may discover and unveil history's secrets and express what they have learned through one of the five following formats:

• Documentaries
• Papers
• Websites 
• Performances 
• Exhibits

The 2024 National History Day theme is:

"Turning Points in History." 

Students should visit the National History Day website at www.nhd.org to see how to get started, locate resources for conducting research, and download the NHD rulebook and the 2024 theme book. The national website also has a list of frequently asked questions and exemplary past projects from each category.

Important Dates 

Registration Opens: Open for 2024

Registration Deadline: February 2, 2024

Papers Due: March 5, 2024

Winners Announced: March 23, 2024

*Please note: registration is not complete until registration form is completely filled out, projects and process papers* are submitted, and $5 payment is received.
